Paul Clayton Gibbs has a mission and a vision to make missionaries who make missionaries all over the world...and he is doing it through the Pais Movement which he founded in 1992. This global ministry is currently impacting six continents, not just sharing the gospel, but equipping, training, and mentoring people to advance the Kingdom of God. Serving as Global Director of Pais, Paul is a gifted speaker, teacher, and author who spends much of his time producing resources to train and mentor Christian leaders. He also travels throughout the world, speaking and teaching. Originally from Manchester, England, Paul and his wife Lynn have two grown sons Joel and Levi. The couple now resides in Arlington, Texas.

Deep and Impactful!

"The Line and the Dot" will inspire you, challenge you, and really open your eyes to a greater depth of understanding of Jesus' heart. As I go through each day, God has used what I have read in this book to show me more of what He sees, more of who He is, and more of who He created me to be.

This book can help you to find the seeds that have been planted, watered, and that God is wanting to grow in you! Your purpose in life will become more clear! Through this book, I have gained so much insight into how to live the abundant life that God desires for all of us to have! To leave this world a better place than when I entered it.

I love seeing the world in a new way!

Useful and practical

In the process of beginning anything new, fresh, or different, I think everyone goes through stages of the process. The problem is, no one knows what the stages are, until now. Paul does an excellent job of breaking down the stages of pioneering, using simple terms and analogies that are practical in nature and Biblical in scope. The best part about the book is that it is not just information, but it actually helps the pioneer in whatever stage he/she is in. I was in stage two going on three when I read this book, and my only wish was that I could have read it before I ever got started. Many of my frustations in pioneering a new idea would have been put to rest having know ahead of time they were coming. Plus I would have been better equipped to deal with them in a manner which helped me instead of frustrated me.
Many of us have ideas we want to see come to pass, but most don't ever get started out of fear of failure, or some other reason. If you have a new idea, any idea, this book will not only help alleviate some of your hesistation, but will also arm you with practical knowledge for your future, and encourage you as well.

Be forewarned

"To be forewarned is to be forearmed".

Gibbs' challenging thoughts on vision and leadership make me uncomfortable.

It is not always easy to see where I am sitting within the four stages of pioneering, or even to see my personal vision for my efforts in the Kingdom in High Definition...but this story and challenge offers me a lens. It has given perspective to the early years of my journey, and in some places has unpacked the vague feelings and thoughts that were floating around in my head and my heart almost anonymously.

It has given my past some descriptive words.

And even more spooky is how the book predicts the shape of my future. The necessary path ways to reaching your most potent potential as a pioneer.
Should I choose not to settle, not to allow others to persuade me away from an unpopular yet spectacular end, I should expect that I will likely face more criticism than encouragement, more demands than investment and more skeptics than fans.

And strange as it seems, it has made me excited.

Because the future is yet to be realized. And my dream...my theme, may be more on target than I realized.

Godd information and easy to read!

I am taking a class in CSS at the local Junior College in Santa Rosa. I am also about to complete my BS in computer science so I have read quite a few "Computer books" by now. My two BIG criteria are
1-Does the book provide valuable information and useful tips?
2-Is it easy to read? Surprisingly some computer books are actually quite readable!

This book meets both criteria so far it earns all five stars. I have not ye4t finished the book SO my other big question is does it cover conditional styling? I'm sure it does but being the Kindle version I have not browsed for it.

My one complaint on the Kindle version is that the examples are too small and faint to be easily readable. In most cases i have to magnify them to read them.

This book is a nice update on designing with CSS. It's great to follow along with Charles designing his own website and how to adjust CSS to make the site stand out and work across all platforms: desktop, tablet and mobile. Informative and helpful. Recommended.

Okay book...needs true tutorials

I was really hopeful that this would be a great book...I was drawn to the "Designer's Guide" title...I'm more of a graphic designer and not a programmer. I had bought three books on CSS, including this one.

I felt that this one wasn't as thorough as other ones I've read...and there was a lack of good, thorough tutorials. The files you can download include the HTML/CSS for every figure in the book, but I didn't feel that this really constituted a "tutorial." I learned a little from comparing the figures and code, but I have seen other books walk you through the concepts and provide step-by-step tutorials...this one doesn't. I currently own four books on CSS that are current.

I also noticed that there are situations where you can shorten your CSS code...and other books highlight this. I never saw mention of it in this book.

I'll take another look at the book to make sure this is a fair review, and may revise it. But I didn't learn as much from this book as I did from the others. I expected it to have much more "whiz-bang" design...it talks a bit about typography and such, but I think columns and layout could be covered better.

The information is there, it's just not presented in a start-to-finish tutorial format. The author talks about what they might add to the code, but is never really clear about whether the user is following along, or if you're just reading the information to see how someone else *might* do it.

Lisa M. Bitel is Professor of History and Religion at the University of Southern California. She is the author of Land of Women and Isle of the Saints, both from Cornell, as well as Landscape with Two Saints and Women in Early Medieval Europe, 400–1100.

Matt Gainer is a documentary photographer whose work explores social and political movements, religious identity and community, and tensions between people and the environments they occupy. The Author raises in discerning minds, issues of contempt of Court and judicial bias, citing Opinions in the House of Lords, United Kingdom in re – Pinochet, former Chilean President; shockingly also exposing, how the media manipulatively operates driven by hidden agendas.

This book is very interesting and absorbing to read, and imparts incisive knowledge on a variety of subjects, dealt with in an objective, analytical and rational manner, exposing socio-political realities. While many libraries are already using the web effectively as a tool for library instruction and training, this practical guide by an academic librarian and technology team leader at Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, NC, is ideal for those libraries that would like to but don't know where to begin. Smith clearly states the goals of each chapter. Starting with an introduction to the concept of web-based instruction, she then discusses the types of web-based library instruction and the designing and development cycle; selecting project development tools, including software and hardware; designing the user interface; using multimedia; introducing interactivity; and evaluation and testing. Smith's book focuses on preproduction, the most important stage of any web project, but it also provides a good overview of web technology in general (even though it's not intended as an HTML guide) and contains useful tips obviously garnered from years of experience. Good "face to face" library instruction will never be replaced, and, as the author states, web-based instruction is not for everyone. However, this method can be used to either enhance traditional library instruction or reach nontraditional audiences, such as those with limited language skills and distance education constituencies. Recommended primarily for academic librarians responsible for bibliographic instruction.
