It's a picture book full with front to back photos of young exotic chicks from South America. The pictures are nice and has a swimsuit magazine quality appeal to it. Although it doesn't mention the actual content in the book's description I'll fill you in, its a partial nudie book with a little boobs and clam fish on every other page. It has more of a artistic feel through a photographer's eye.

Good book lovely models.

It has some pretty good photography work in it. The quality of the printing and book production is nice. The models are lovely toned and I enjoyed the book. Only thing that kept me from rating it higher was there were not a lot of models and kind of a small book. What is there is well done just limited in amount.

Great "Pocket" Dictionary!

As a French teacher, I have a collection of French-English dictionaries (and two French-French dictionaries). In the upper levels I teach, I recommend that students buy their own pocket dictionaries as a reference for some of the work that we do in class. I go over what to look for in a good dictionary (cultural notes, expressions, examples of different contexts, etc.) Students over the years have tried many, many different brands of dictionaries and this is always a favorite. Sure, it is not as complete as say, the full-sized Oxford French-English dictionary, but for a pocket-sized dictionary it does a really solid job.

The Mind and the Body

Mental Combat: The Sports Psychology Secrets written by Phil Pierce is an examination of preparing ones mind to enable the body to perform well . The primary emphasis is on sports competition such as Martial arts . The author is a lifelong martial artist and has written books on self defense and there is helpful advice on training your brain so your body will perform better. There are quick fixes for nerves, adrenaline rushes, panic attacks before, during and after events. Each chapter is preceded by a quote from a famous individual that helps explain the following chapter. There is a lot of information on Sports Psychology, its origins and use by ancient Greeks, Germans, Russians and people of today.Reading this book will be an aid to a competitive athlete but it also can be helpful to anyone experiencing stress, anxiety or difficulties in life as they can apply the principles and practices contained in this book and achieve happiness and success. Recommended.

I don't really knowing how I feel about this book. What I was expecting was a book that that would help me increase my mental defenses. That doesn't seem to be the set up of the book though. it felt more as a summary of different researches about sport psychology. That is probably the reason why it didn't became a favorite, but it is not bad...

Very easy to read and powerful effective techniques

Very easy to read and powerful effective techniques. I am a plant based guy with lot of interest in youga, meditation, mind hacks, productivity improvements and this book is wonderful and ties everything to sports psychology. If you are trying to up your game to next level, the book has wonderful techniques. Of course any book is only as good as how you implement things. I am just quoting couple of small paragraphs from the book.
Sports psychology stimulates the mental combat training needed to change your attitude, conquer stress and sharpen your internal processing. The only way to do this is by determining what thoughts or beliefs are holding you back and replacing them with healthy techniques and philosophies. The benefits of this process are endless.
Try meditation. Meditation quiets your mind, allowing your brain to focus on restorative processes. With regular practice, meditation can help your brain learn to shut out certain emotions such as pain or anxiety. This means more of your attention stays on your opponent and what you are.

I love the emphasis on meditation and mindfulness. That was enough to believe the book!

Excellent!

This book is excellent, which makes me wonder what the heck the last reviewer was thinking. This book doesn't have point location errors...I am a certified acupuncturist and I can assure you this book is not only accurate, but Bruce Pomeranz uses Western methods to validate the use of acupuncture in the mainstream. Many people don't like his "anatomical" method of relating the acu-points, but for Western trained health care professionals, it is much easier to integrate into practice, sell to patients and to explain using science than the traditional Chinese medicine. Let's face it, the Chinese knew what they were talking about 2000 years ago (or more!) but they explained it in a way that made sense to them. Well, we're a bit more scientific now and explaining the results we get with a bit of science may offend some, but it is progress because we are integrating old style wisdom with new understandings.

The field of organic electronics has seen a steady growth over the last 20 years. At the same time, our scientific understanding of how to achieve optimum device performance has grown, and this book gives an overview of our present-day knowledge of the physics behind organic semiconductor devices. Based on the very successful first edition, the editors have invited top scientists from the US, Asia, and Europe to include the developments from recent years, covering such fundamental issues as:

• growth and characterization of thin films of organic semiconductors
• charge transport and photophysical properties of the materials as well as their electronic structure at interfaces, and
• analysis and modeling of devices like organic light-emitting diodes, photovoltaic cells or field-effect transistors.

The result is an overview of the field for both readers with basic knowledge and for an application-oriented audience. It thus bridges the gap between textbook knowledge largely based on crystalline molecular solids and those books focusing more on device applications.

About the Author
Wolfgang Bruetting, University of Augsburg. Professor Brutting received his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Bayreuth in 1995 with a work on charge transport in one-dimensional charge-density wave systems. He then moved to the field of organic semiconductors where he could take part in the development of organic light-emitting devices for display applications. In 2003 he became Professor for Experimental Physics at the University of Augsburg. His current research activities include thin film growth, photophysics and electrical transport in organic semiconductor devices.

Chihaya Adachi, Kyushu University in Japan. Professor Adachi worked at Chitose Institute of Science and Technology until he joined the Center for Future Chemistry as a Professor. He is heading the Division for Optical Functional Materials which research activities on organic optical electronics range from the synthesis of organic semiconductor materials to the development of devices and the clarification of properties.

Russell J. Holmes is Assistant Professor at the Dept. of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science at the University of Minnesota. His research is primarily focused on the study of thin films and single crystals of organic materials. Russel Holmes is specifically interested in how these materials behave from a growth standpoint, the characterization of their optical and electrical properties, and their performance in optoelectronic devices.

You could really just go with the previous version

After I rented this book, my professor said that we could've just gone with the previous version (6th Edition) because it contains the exact same information with negligible changes to the content. Would've been nice if the professor mentioned this before I rented the book and saved me some money, But glad Amazon rents textbooks and very comparable prices.

I agree with this book

The reason I say that I agree with this book is because a majority of this book that informed of what I should do as a supervisor was what I would have already done in that situation so for me the only things I learned from this book was the technical terms for what some things were called and some laws involving ethics. this means to me that either A this book is filled with relatively common knowledge or B I would just make an awesome supervisor because my instinctual thought process gives me all the right answers. I would recommend renting this book before you make the decision of buying it. I wont be buying this book because laws and technical terms was the only thing it helped me with in that case I believe I can find a better book but if you need help deciding what to do as a supervisor then perhaps this book is meant for you.

This textbook is informative and easy to read. The information about Supervisors encompasses real-life situations in the workplace. I recommend this book for college-level instruction, and for personal enlightenment.

About the Author

Dr. Rick Warren is pastor, author, global strategist, theologian, and philanthropist.  His book The Purpose driven Life has been called the bestselling non-fiction hardback in publishing history by Publishers Weekly, having sold more than 32 million copies.  Warren founded Saddleback Church in 1980 with his wife, Kay.  In addition to a 120-acre campus in Lake Forest, CA, the church has ten satellite campuses in Southern California and three international campuses.
