This started off as a good story, but what woman's pride prevents decent shelter and food. The only reason I finished book is because I started it but the main female character got on my nerves with her self righteous take on the world bs. I understand being independent but at some point a little help goes along way. Help gets you in the rest is up to individual to stay. The redeeming factor of this story is she did realize there has to be better way and accepted help. Hopefully the next rags to riches is better. Thank you

I normally enjoy Ciara Coles books but I couldn't get past the way this one was written. Instead of saying the persons name the author write the woman, or the dark skinned woman or the business mogul or the mogul. It was annoying and frustrating and I found myself skipping pages so I wouldn't have to read that. Hopefully the next book doesn't have this kind of writing style.

I always dread giving a less than 3 star rating on someone's work. I know it takes a great deal of confidence to put yourself out there for others to scrutinize, to either like or dislike. This book for me missed a couple of key elements- chemistry between the 2 lead characters, and interesting plot that keeps the reader engaged. I felt overwhelmed by adjectives and wished there had been something that connected the characters. For me, I need to be grabbed in the first chapter or even second chapter of the book.I think elements of chapters 1 & 2 could have been condensed and combined into one. The This genre (bwwm/swirl romance) has seen a great increase and there needs to be something to make your story stand out from the rest of the "extremely wealthy non black man/stubborn, chip on the shoulder black woman" stories. For me the story didn't pick up until chapter 5 or so and then fell off again. The heroine was not likeable. On a positive note, the book lacked grammatical errors that abound in other e-books. That should give another half star. I was given this book to provide honest feedback. Sorry.

This is a mandatory text for all practicing opticians, and recommended for optometrists who plan to dispense eyewear.
I am an optometry student, and a licensed dispensing optician with an ABO Master certification.
Excellent resource for all things related to ophthalmic optics.
Well laid out, and the updated version here has color photographs. I've used the second edition extensively, and opted to purchase this third edition for my own reference.

THE #1 Reference Book for Dispensing

This is THE book for opticians and optometrists. I used this to study for the AOA and ABO licensing tests and passed both without any problems prior to using it as reference in optometry school. It details the hows and whys of ophthalmic optics and is a phenomenal reference. I am proud to have this book in my collection and do refer back to it even now.

It's a great reference tool when you come accross special cases

The information is a little outdated, but it still has relevant and practical information about adjusting and fitting eyeglasses. I wouldn't use this as a sole study source for ABO exams. It isn't very well rounded. If you get find this book on sale, I'd say snatch it up. It's a great reference tool when you come accross special cases, out of the ordinary adjustments, and unusual frame materials.

A thoughtful work of fiction..or is it fiction?

As I free thinking Catholic woman I was enmeshed in this novel from the start. I had watched the new version of the Bible shown recently on television. At the end of the show each apostle was followed as they journeyed to spread the word of Jesus. All of the disciples were discussed except Mary who had been portrayed as a close follower of Jesus even up to the Pentacost. So I thought "What happened to Mary?" I searched on Amazon and found this wonderful work of fiction which I choose to think of as a very real possibility.

A believable and beautifully written account of the life of Mary Magdalen. Bledsoe's use of the first person by means of the diary is particularly effective and gives the story an immediacy and intimacy that makes it very convincing. A first class piece of work and a highly entertaining one as well.
